Word Market celebrates the written word through a programme of live and exciting literary events throughout the year.

In the past we have hosted writers such as Simon Armitage, Joanna Trollope, Mavis Cheek, Roger Ellory, Jackie Kay and Barbara Trapido.  Local writers such as Zoe Sharpe and Kathleen Jones have also been amongst those involved in our events. These writers have enjoyed a warm reception, good audience numbers and a beautiful local environment.

Events include regular workshops, master-classes and tasters - often run by famous poets, best-selling authors, publishers, literary agents and theatre directors. 

Our annual festival often has specific themes, in previous years these have included Travel & Adventure and Crime & Passion.
